Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame handed a tray of free Billy's double cheeseburgers to about 30 riders on the Rediscover Dunwoody Trolley Tour when it pulled up to NFA Burger at the Shops of Dunwoody on Thursday, July 9.

The celebrity drop-in was not on the itinerary.

NFA Burger is a regular stop on the monthly tour, but Waka Flocka's appearance caught riders off guard, according to Discover Dunwoody, the city's official tourism organization, which posted about the moment on Instagram the same day. The post had drawn more than 2,000 likes by the following week.

Discover Dunwoody wrote that the stop "came with burgers, good vibes, and a surprise hello from Waka Flocka. Only in Dunwoody."

Neither Discover Dunwoody nor NFA Burger has publicly explained the rapper's connection to the restaurant or the reason for his appearance. Rough Draft Atlanta, which reported on the surprise on Tuesday, July 15, noted only that Waka Flocka "is most definitely not part of the regular tour."

How the trolley tour works

Now in its third year, the free Rediscover Dunwoody Trolley Tour runs from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. The 21-and-over experience holds up to 30 guests per ride and rotates through four routes covering Perimeter Center, The Village, Georgetown, Dunwoody Village Parkway, and the Brook Run area.

At each stop, riders head inside local businesses for tastings, mini tours, and conversations with owners. Seats fill quickly, and Discover Dunwoody recommends registering early at discoverdunwoody.com.

The 2026 vendor lineup includes NFA Burger alongside Agave Bandido, Summit Coffee, Vino Venue, and several other Dunwoody restaurants and bars, with different businesses featured each month depending on the route.
