A free outdoor concert blending jazz, blues, rock and world music is coming to the Green at High Street in Dunwoody on Oct. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The "World of Music" show pairs two groups with deep local ties. The James Violin Studio Group, led by Dunwoody native Alison James, will perform alongside World Music USA, the cross-cultural ensemble led by composer and producer Jayanta Pathak. The event listing on the Aha! Connection describes the evening as a candlelit performance set outdoors on the park's green space.

James grew up in Dunwoody and started playing violin in the string program at Woodland Elementary, according to her biography. She earned degrees in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Southern California and is a certified Suzuki Violin Pedagogy teacher. Her studio group pairs young violinists in ensemble performances.

Pathak, who co-founded World Music USA, has been based in Atlanta since 2008 after earlier work in Mumbai and London, according to his profile. His organization draws on musical traditions from Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States.

The concert takes place on the three-quarter-acre park at High Street, the $2 billion mixed-use development at Perimeter Center Parkway and Hammond Drive. Phase 1 of the project opened in late 2024 with retail, restaurants, apartments and office space, according to the City of Dunwoody. The Green already hosts regular programming including yoga sessions, social Fridays and movie screenings. The development sits near the Dunwoody MARTA station, GA 400 and I-285.

Admission is free.
