Faith leaders, business owners, and civic advocates across Dunwoody and Brookhaven can apply for a new year-long program that connects community members directly with DeKalb County School District leadership. The district is accepting applications for its Community L.E.A.D. Academy through Friday, August 14, 2026.

The program, housed under the DCSD superintendent's office, is open to faith partners, community advocates, business leaders, civic organizations, and stakeholders focused on student success, according to the district's July 13 newsletter.

What participants gain

DCSD says participants will learn how the district operates, meet with school and district leaders, and build partnerships that support students and schools. The academy is a new initiative with no prior cohort.

The district has promoted the program on its official X account since late May. In a July 9 post, DCSD described the academy as an opportunity for community stakeholders who want to help "move our students forward."

Interested residents can find application details at dekalbschoolsga.org/superintendent/lead-academy.
