Stage Door Theatre is scrapping its traditional subscription model after more than 50 years. In its place, the Dunwoody community theater is launching a membership program alongside a five-show 53rd season that begins in October at the Dunwoody Cultural Arts Center.
The theater, led by producing artistic director Justin Ball, announced the 2026-2027 lineup on its Instagram page. The season spans five mainstage productions:
- Ripcord — Oct. 3-18, 2026
- The Winter Wonderettes — Dec. 5-20, 2026
- Proof — Feb. 6-21, 2027
- Little Shop of Horrors — April 3-18, 2027
- Every Brilliant Thing — Aug. 14-29, 2027
Stage Door described the season as featuring "musicals and plays, laughter and tears, and a healthy dose of extraterrestrial plants," a nod to the man-eating plant at the center of Little Shop of Horrors.
The new membership program includes reserved seats, discounted tickets to all mainstage productions, and early access to summer camps, according to the theater's website. Individual tickets and memberships are on sale at stagedoortheatrega.org.
Auditions for the season opener are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with callbacks on Sunday, Aug. 3. The box office is open Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m., at 770-396-1726, ext. 1.
Stage Door was founded in 1973 and has called the Dunwoody Cultural Arts Center home since 1988. The building at 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road also houses the Spruill Center for the Arts and the Dunwoody branch of the DeKalb County Library.
