A six-person comedy troupe takes the stage at Dunwoody's Stage Door Theatre on Saturday, July 25, with an original sketch show packed with offbeat premises and local talent.
"My Dead Cat Rhonda: Almost Damn Good Sketch Comedy," produced by Ovations Theater, runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road. Director Kelly Balzli leads a cast of local actors — Cole Kiker, Maya Kelch, Ken Worsham, Jim Dailey, and Sam Lee — through original sketches with names like "Murder Co-Worker" and "Grandma Bunnies." Stand-up comedian Emily Holden rounds out the evening. Tickets are $30 plus fees at ovationstheater.com.
The show is a collaboration between Ovations Theater and Stage Door Theatre, which is in its 52nd season at the Dunwoody Cultural Arts Center. The city unveiled a new mural on the theater's exterior wall in June — "Anatomy of a Dream" by artist Nicole Merizalde. The City of Dunwoody described the piece on social media as "transforming a wall that stood empty for decades into a vibrant celebration of creativity and the arts."
