Michel Arnette opens SIREN, a fifth Brookhaven concept, with wood-fired seafood next to Chop Shop. The restaurant is now serving oysters, whole fish and wood-fired seafood on Apple Valley Road in Brookhaven.

SIREN, a modern coastal seafood concept, opened Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 2700 Apple Valley Road NE, Suite 65, next door to Arnette's Chop Shop. It's the fifth restaurant from Word of Mouth Restaurants, the Brookhaven-based hospitality group Arnette founded in 2003.

"We're excited to open. We feel like we have a bit of a trifecta," Arnette told Atlanta Magazine ahead of the opening. "We've got a great private club, an incredible steakhouse, and now a modern, upscale seafood restaurant."

The 90-seat dining room is carved from the former space of the Associate, a private members' club Arnette opened in 2024. Guests enter through Arnette's Chop Shop and walk down a dimly lit hallway that Arnette describes as "a modern interpretation of a grotto" before reaching the restaurant. Members of the Associate retain a private space behind SIREN.

Co-executive chefs Stephen Herman and Matt Swickerath lead the kitchen. Herman, a partner in Word of Mouth Restaurants since 2012, also helms Arnette's Chop Shop. Swickerath comes from Valenza, another Word of Mouth concept.

The menu is seafood-forward. Entrees including swordfish, scallops and Georgia trout are cooked over oak and Japanese binchotan charcoal on a custom grill built by Grills by Demant in East Point. A raw bar offers oysters, shrimp, lobster, razor clams and caviar service. Sommelier Andrew LeClair oversees the beverage program, which leans heavily on sparkling wines and Champagne alongside craft cocktails and zero-proof options.

The dining room features pop art installations of female forms in the sea by Georgia-based, Croatian-born artist Pavlina Alea, Tom Dixon Melt pendant lighting and a bubble wall meant to evoke an underwater setting. An adjacent semi-private room seats up to 18.

Word of Mouth Restaurants now operates five concepts in Brookhaven: Arnette's Chop Shop, Haven, Valenza Italian, Vero Pizzeria and SIREN. The group employs between 51 and 200 people, according to its LinkedIn page.
