Shoppers at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams on Ashford Lane can turn a scoop into a donation on Monday, July 27, when the Dunwoody Police Department hosts a "Cops with Cones" fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Georgia.

The department will be on-site from noon to 3 p.m., and Jeni's will donate 25% of all in-store sales during that window to the organization. Every purchase counts automatically. Customers do not need to present a flyer or mention the fundraiser at the register, according to the shop's fundraising program page.

The event is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, the largest annual fundraising effort for Special Olympics Georgia. The statewide program involves more than 1,000 officers from over 100 agencies, according to the organization's website. Special Olympics Georgia serves approximately 24,000 athletes across the state.

Dunwoody Police announced the event on its official X account on Monday, July 20, calling it "an afternoon of ice cream and community fun." The department has supported Special Olympics Georgia through multiple fundraisers in 2026, including the annual Torch Run on March 31, alongside officers from Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Norcross, and Hapeville, and a National Donut Day event at Dunkin' Donuts in late May.
