Participants can walk or run through Dunwoody Village in search of miniature door artwork during a free scavenger hunt Thursday, Oct. 22.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at Vintage Pizzeria. Individuals and groups will solve clues, complete challenges and find installations created by Dunwoody High School students, according to Rough Draft Atlanta.

This is the third scavenger hunt organized by Active Dunwoody and its partners. Organizers encourage participants to register through Eventbrite.

Student artwork guides the route

The Doorwoody exhibit is a collaboration between Create Dunwoody and the Dunwoody Team of Leadership Perimeter. Its directory lists 14 installations by 12 student artists at businesses across the Greater Dunwoody Village area.

Among them are Tamya Austin’s “OctoDoor” at Aqua-Tots Swim School and Ella Breitkopf’s “Enter the Black Hole” at Ace Hardware, according to Create Dunwoody’s exhibit page.

The organizer describes the hunt as a social outing rather than a race. People registering alone can be added to a team.

“We love finding creative ways to get people moving and connected to their community, and this event checks both boxes,” Lauren Sok, founder of Active Dunwoody and owner of Functionize Health & Physical Therapy, told Rough Draft.

Prizes and local vendors

Finding artwork and solving clues will earn participants chances to win dozens of prizes donated by businesses, including Prelude Bookstore, Judy & Grace, NFA Burger and Chupitos Aztec Grille.

Beyond Juicery will provide free samples, and New Balance representatives will be on hand. Sok told Rough Draft she hopes more than 100 people participate.

Active Dunwoody is hosting the event with Create Dunwoody, Functionize Health & Physical Therapy, Girls Who Walk, Big Peach Running Co.-Brookhaven, Brookhaven Run Club and Bhaago Atlanta Run Club.
