A 12-foot bumblebee sculpture called "Busy Bee" now stands at Windwood Hollow Park in Dunwoody, adding a new landmark to the 11-acre green space on Lakeside Drive.
The City of Dunwoody announced the installation Monday, Sept. 14, on its official X account. Artist Huelani Mei created the piece, which the city said celebrates pollinators and complements the pollinator garden at the park maintained by the Dunwoody Garden Club.
Dunwoody Parks and Recreation had previewed the project on Facebook, describing the work as a 12-foot bee sculpture headed for the park.
The park sits at 4865 Lakeside Drive. It features a playground, two tennis courts, a picnic pavilion, nature trails and an open meadow, according to the city's parks website.
The Dunwoody Garden Club plants and maintains several public gardens across the city, including the one at Windwood Hollow, according to the club's website. The club also unveiled a statue called "Study Time" at the DeKalb County Library branch off Chamblee Dunwoody Road in September 2025, Appen Media reported.
Mei has three earlier installations on Dunwoody parkland. Her piece "Grounded Growth," a trio of metal flower sculptures standing 10 to 15 feet tall, was unveiled at Brook Run Park in July 2022, Appen Media reported.
She also created "Common Ground," three artistic arbor benches with real climbing flowers at Georgetown Park, according to the city's Art in the Park page. That program places original artwork across Dunwoody's park system. In April 2025, the city unveiled her sculpture "Reflections," a mirrored, hand-forged metal "D," at Two Bridges Park.
"Busy Bee" is Mei's fourth installation on city parkland.
Windwood Hollow Park is open daily. Residents can find the new sculpture near the pollinator garden off Lakeside Drive.
