The Bring It Home campaign for Dunwoody High School's new football stadium needs $131,475 to hit its $1.5 million goal. Donors have until Wednesday, Sept. 30 to close the gap.

The campaign has raised more than 91% of its target, according to an update posted Monday, Sept. 7 by the Dunwoody High School Community Association, which runs the fundraising effort. The association said it plans to present a final project package to the DeKalb County Board of Education on Monday, Oct. 5.

If the board approves, construction could begin in November, with completion expected by June 2027.

The $1.5 million community campaign is one piece of a roughly $2.5 million project. TV and radio host Ryan Seacrest, a 1992 Dunwoody High graduate, contributed a lead gift of about $1 million. The DeKalb County School Board approved naming the facility Seacrest Stadium in December 2025. No taxpayer dollars are involved, according to What's Up Dunwoody.

The stadium plan calls for 2,000 new seats to bring the total to 3,000, the number required to host varsity games. It also includes a press box, restrooms, concessions, a ticket booth, fencing, landscaping and a modern sound system. What's Up Dunwoody reported the facility would make Dunwoody the first DeKalb County high school with a dedicated on-campus home field.

The late Coach Mike Nash, a longtime Dunwoody head football coach, dreamed of Wildcats students walking to their own home game, according to What's Up Dunwoody. Head coach Matt Schmitz, entering his second season, would lead the team onto that field.

The campaign association acknowledged in its update that if the full $1.5 million is not raised, the project team could scale back parts of the plan. But the group urged the community to push for the full amount, calling it the chance to build what was originally envisioned for students, staff and the broader Dunwoody community.

The DeKalb County Board of Education approved a construction manager recommendation on Aug. 10. The association said it is now finalizing a binding agreement with the DeKalb County School District ahead of the Oct. 5 board presentation.

Donations start at $20, are tax-deductible through the Dunwoody High School Community Association, and can be made at bringithomedunwoody.com. Donors are recognized in game day programs and on the stadium's Founder's Wall. The Sept. 30 deadline is firm.
