The Community Assistance Center is seeking sponsors to provide gifts for 1,500 children through its 21st annual Hope for the Holidays program.
Sponsor registration opens Friday, Nov. 6, on the CAC website. Participants select a family and shop from the children’s wish lists.
How to sponsor
Sponsors are asked to spend $100 per child and deliver gifts unwrapped to CAC’s Holiday Gift Center at 1130 Hightower Trail between Dec. 1 and Dec. 12, according to Rough Draft Atlanta.
CAC arranges pickup with parents, allowing them to wrap the presents and give them to their children themselves.
Groups interested in sponsoring 10 or more children can contact Cares for Kids Coordinator Oscar Nuñez at [email protected].
Who can apply
The program serves children through age 18 in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and the portion of Doraville served by Dunwoody schools. Families can apply through Nov. 16.
Participants must be CAC clients, but new families can begin the holiday application process while completing client enrollment. Required documents include identification, proof of address, children’s birth certificates or passports, and school enrollment records.
CAC cautions that gifts are not guaranteed for every applicant because the program depends on community sponsors. Application and eligibility information is available online.
