Chamblee Middle School won the DeKalb County School District volleyball championship at the Battle of Metro Middle School Volleyball Tournament.

DCSD Athletics announced the result on Tuesday, Sept. 29. A second DeKalb County school finished as runner-up, giving the district the tournament's top two spots. DCSD Athletics did not name the runner-up school.

The championship capped a regular season that ran from Aug. 12 through Sept. 28. Chamblee faced 14 opponents across the district and made an appearance at the Pope Jr. Tournament, according to the team's schedule.

The title adds to a strong stretch for Chamblee athletics. The high school has won the DCSD All-Sports Girls Award four times in the last seven years, most recently in 2026, according to the DeKalb County School District athletics page.

The middle school championship also feeds into a Chamblee Charter High School varsity program in the middle of a competitive season. The Bulldogs hold a 6-2 region record, good for second place, and a No. 18 ranking in Georgia Class 6A, according to MaxPreps.

Junior outside hitter Cecilia Curran leads the varsity attack with 3.0 kills per set and 77 serving aces. Sophomore middle blocker Mona Taylor has recorded 49 total blocks.

Head coach L. Reynolds' squad travels to Milton on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 5:30 p.m.
