Dunwoody Village diners now have a shaded spot to eat outdoors. Stable Comfort Food & Cocktails has opened its covered patio, dubbed the Stable Saloon, at 1317 Dunwoody Village Pkwy.
The City of Dunwoody promoted the debut on Tuesday, Aug. 4, tagging the city's economic development office. Chef Cameron Woods appeared on WANF's ATL Live the same day to demonstrate dishes including sweet southern cornbread and seasonal peach cobbler, according to Atlanta News First.
The patio was part of the plan when the restaurant opened April 9, replacing Steak & Grace, which closed in January after less than a year. Rough Draft Atlanta reported in April that the outdoor space would be all-weather and resemble a horse barn, complete with chandeliers and an outdoor bar.
It took about four months to deliver.
Stable is one of several restaurants at Dunwoody Village operated by Dash Hospitality Group, founded by David Abes. The cluster, which Abes has branded "Funwoody," also includes Barn Booze and Bites, Morty's Meat Supply and Message In a Bottle. When announcing the Southern concept in January 2026, Abes told Rough Draft Atlanta, "We threw out a couple of different concepts and really loved the idea of Southern food."
The menu leans into Georgia staples. Starters include a Southern Lazy Susan cheese and charcuterie board, barbecue pulled pork dumplings and Carolina crab dip. Entrees include buttermilk fried chicken, Georgia mountain trout "pecandine" and twin whole-roasted quails with cornbread dressing. Daily meat-and-two options feature fried catfish, meatloaf and pot roast. The bar pours Southern-leaning cocktails such as a sorghum Old Fashioned and an ATL Sazerac.
A grand opening celebration for the Saloon patio is set for Thursday, Aug. 20, from 6–8 p.m. The ticketed event, called "Fried Chicken n Fiddler," costs $35 (21+ only) and includes three whiskey tastings from ASW Distillery's Chin Music Fiddler Barrel Selection, a live bluegrass performance and Woods' fried chicken three ways. Tickets are available at stabledunwoody.com/events.
Kids eat free on Sundays in August for ages 12 and under ordering from the kids' menu.
Honky Tonk Happy Hour runs daily from 4–6 p.m. Stable is open Tuesday through Sunday, 4–10 p.m., at (470) 709-4304.
